Baby Shower!!!

I have the greatest friends ever. Seriously.

Candace and Tiffanie and Jess threw me an AMAZING baby shower on the 28th!
It was so gorgeous and fun and girly. :)

Candace hosted at her house, and did the table layout and the diaper cake, and she had prepped squares of fabric and little flowers to cut out and have everyone sew on to the fabric. To make a quilt for baby girl. Isn't that awesome?

And Tiffanie helped with the decorations and found the most PERFECT baby shower game for me--
everyone went around in a circle and had to sing part of a song with the word 'baby' in it, without repeating a song that was already used. Right up my alley. :)

And Jess....oh how I love her...she did the food. It was DELICIOUS. I think I spent most of the shower just sitting and eating, because it was so yummy I couldn't help myself. That's probably why Candace took so many pictures of me with my mouth full, because it was constantly full. ;)

Yah, it was wonderful. A bunch of lovely women came and they absolutely spoiled baby girl, and it was just a fabulous afternoon.
I loved every bit of it. :)

Thank you to everyone!!! I felt SO loved!

The gorgeous table

frillies hanging from the ceiling (yes, I stole one for baby's room)

the food--those little brownies with the raspberries and whipped cream were AMAZING

me, very pregnant, and very excited to eat :)

Amber and Renee working on quilt pieces (and Renee is pregnant, too! We're due almost the same day! AND she's having a girl!)

Sarah and Tiffanie

Jackie and Keri

Christa and Monica

Wendy and Tiff working on their sewing

me, being a star ;) (and Keri and I co-won the game!)

this is probably the same face I had for each gift, the "awww, it's so cute!!!" face :)

seriously, we got spoiled. And we didn't get pics of everyone who came, but I love you all!
Thank you!!!

And the finished quilt--Candace seriously whipped this thing together in about 2 days.
Isn't it GORGEOUS??? It matches the baby's room perfectly!

Yah, greatest friends ever. Thank you, girls. :*)

(and thank you, Candace, for taking pictures!)

Blueberry Goodness

I've got a thing for blueberries. I like just about anything that contains fresh blueberries. Or ones cooked down into a jam-like consistency. Or pureed with other fruits. Whatever. I like blueberries.

THESE
were AMAZING.

They took forever, but they were amazing.
I thought I'd share the recipe.

You're welcome!

Actions Speak Louder than Words

Since Caleb goes to a charter school that's not within our city, I have to make sure he gets to and from school each day. Luckily, we have friends around us who go to the same school, and we've formed a pretty sweet carpool. I only have to drop kids off one morning each week, and I pick them up 2 afternoons each week. Naturally, Beckett comes with me. In the afternoons, we usually leave about a half hour before school lets out, so we can get there and get in a decent place in line.

One day last week as we were getting ready to head out the door, I was complaining that I was tired. Beckett responded with 'I'M not tired!' I said, 'Oh you're not, huh? Ok, sure.' So we got in the car and headed on our way, and 9 minutes after we left the house, I saw a sight like this:

Sorry kid, I think I called your bluff. ;)

Caleb's Art

"Mom! Look what I painted in art class today!"

"Looks great, Caleb! What is it?"

"It's a tree exploding!"

"... ok ..."
