Photography by Caleb

Ever wonder what the world looks like from an almost-5-year-old's POV? Now we know. :)

Just wait--these pictures will be worth something someday!

Some of these feel like those pictures of things so close up, and then you're supposed to guess what they are. Any guesses?? :)

Easter Prep

There's always so much to do when you're getting ready for a holiday...

And we're smart because we only do some of it. :)

Making Jif Easter Nests for FHE the week before (soooo yummy, and easy, BTW)

Then the obligatory 'egg decorating' the day before, which the boys loved. :)
(Thanks for the 'Cars' kit, mom!!!)

And poof! We're ready for Easter! :)

Sunday Walk

Sundays for the past 3 months have been CRAZY, and in all honesty, not very restful. At least not for me. What with having rehearsals for the 'Messiah' concert that I performed in for Easter EVERY Sunday night, and church going from 11-2, that only left me a few hours at home to try and relax and get dinner for the family.

Most times, Kenn ended up making waffles or french toast or something for the boys and I snagged a sandwich, and we didn't do much of anything that was fun because the boys were having nap/quiet time.

So imagine my joy when Kenn said 'let's go for a walk.' He NEVER wants to go for walks, which made me appreciate his suggestion all the more.

A few months ago when Kenn's mom was here watching the boys while we were on our cruise, Rita took them on a walk and found yet another secret trail that we had no idea existed. So, we thought we'd go see it on our walk. And lucky for us, Caleb remembered exactly how to get there. :)

here's where the path lead--underneath the new toll road, 183-A. So exciting for 3 boys. :)

Yay! we get to throw a bunch of rocks!

At any rate, the boys had fun, and they were nice and tired when we got home. And so was I, cause it was super hot that Sunday (this was the week before Easter). Good times, walking under highways, throwing rocks.

At least it was free.

Sometimes I'm a nice mommy....

And I let my kids do things like this...

It doesn't happen often, though. :)

I Believe in Heredity

This is me. :)

This is my brother Jon. I call him Noj.

And this is a picture of my grandparents on their wedding day (we think it's their wedding day anyways). Grandma and Grandpa Ruona are the ones sitting.

Anyone else see the resemblance?? :)

Diva Dash and Kenn's Birthday

Yay for running another race! :) Candace and I ran the Shape Diva Dash on April 9th. It was a 5k/obstacle race, so you run the distance and have to do some random things as you go. We were pretty excited, and we'd been doing strength training and running some intervals for about 6 weeks to get ready for it.

See? Look how excited we are. :)

So then we ran the actual race. And it was kind of lame, to be honest. The obstacles were pretty silly. We walked across a rope (holding on to 2 other ones), ran through a small fenced-in area and had ginormous balls kind of pushed at us, climbed through some ropes all tied across each other, ran through a long stretch of tires on the ground (that was cool, actually, especially because I rocked it, hehe) and we also had to jump across multiple inflated things on the water. Pretty hard, and still kind of silly. :)

My biggest issues were that the race wasn't chip timed, so no one actually knows how fast they did it, and that we didn't get t-shirts. And the t-shirts were actually cute, for once! So I could've got one, if I wanted to pay another $20 on top of the $35 registration fee I'd already paid.

I didn't.

But we ran it! See how happy we are?? :)

The running part was actually really good for me. I think it's the best I've ever run. Go me!

And Kenn turned 31 the same day! We got him balloons, and hung up the Happy Birthday sign, and all Kenn wanted for his birthday was to go and drive some go-karts. So that is what he and I did.

This is us in line for the go-karts. Happy Birthday, babe. :)

easter sunday

Oh man, Easter Sunday was fabulous this year. :)

The night before was the final 'Messiah' performance, and both boys were sick with fevers and so Kenn couldn't bring them to see me. And I was sad. :( So Kenn asked when I got home what he could do to make it up to me, and I told him I wanted some pretty Spring flowers for my Easter table.

So he went to the store and got me some. :D

(I love my husband!!!)

So we started the morning reading the scripture story of the first Easter Sunday, when Mary Magdalene saw the resurrected Savior, and I asked Caleb if he remembered what we talked about in FHE last week. I said, "Caleb, do you remember why we celebrate Easter?", and he said, "Because Jesus was resurrected!" Such a proud mommy moment. :*)

So once we got the boys to focus for a bit on the REAL reason we celebrate Easter, we let them go downstairs to see whatever may have arrived during the night. ;) When Caleb got downstairs and saw my flowers on the counter he said, "Mom!!! Look what the Easter bunny brought you!!!!" :)
I feel a tradition in the making... ;)

So then, the boys ran all over finding the eggs that the easter bunny left (luckily, the e.b. told mommy and daddy how many there should be).

And then, it was time to go crazy and eat some treats. Yum. :)

The fun continued, with us eating our colored eggs for breakfast (with ketchup, of course!), along with some toast and fruit.

Then off to church (only for sacrament meeting, since the boys were still sick), and then home to take some pictures of the fancy easter duds. :)

Now is the part where I inundate you with pictures of my handsome boys. They were too funny. :) (Beckett's faces, especially, are so fantastic...)

Hope everyone else had as wonderful an Easter as we did!!!
