Mother's Day 2010--Part 2

So after church, we got lunch ready for all and sent the kids off for nap/quiet time. I read the paper and looked at ads and then Kenn and I watched some 30 Rock and this really cool movie called "Bottle Shock," which is about back in the 70's when the California vineyards started to make a global impression. Really cool show. And then once the kids were up, we decided to put in another movie and make some popcorn, so here is Kenn making popcorn with Caleb.

Caleb was excited, I promise; don't let the picture fool you. :)

Whilst that was going on, Beckett decided to sit down with a book and wait.

Then after "Wall-e" was over, Kenn made dinner! It was awesome! I love not having to cook, and this was even better because his pancakes were AMAZING. He said he mixed the batter really well and then let it rest, and then he mixed it like crazy again.

Kenn: "Know where I learned about that?"

Amy: "From the corn muffins because the package says to do that?"

Kenn: "Well, yah, that, too, but really I got it from 'This Old House,' because that's what they do with cement and mortar."

I laughed out loud at that. Leave it to my husband to apply construction tips to making pancakes. But I can't knock it, because they turned out heavenly. They were so fluffy, and you couldn't even tell they were made with soy milk and egg replacer! I love my husband!

See said goodness here. :)
Beckett and Caleb were having fun chowing down on their pancakes and bacon. Yummm.

All in all, it's been a great day. I have felt so relaxed and un-responsible for everything, and it's awesome to feel that way. I can't wait to do it again sometime (hint, hint Kenn).

And no, I didn't get a picture of me with my boys, but it's ok. I'm sure I'll be in a picture with them someday, when Kenn learns to be behind the camera once in a while (again, hint, hint Kenn). :D

Happy Mother's Day to my mama and Kenn's mama and Kenn's AMAZING Grandma Nielsen and my sister and Kenn's sister and sisters-in-law and all our aunts and cousins and friends and all the fantastic women we know. Our lives are blessed because of you. :)

That looks like a great Mother's Day. And don't you get your cooking tips from construction shoes? ;)
