Garrett's Birthday Party
Caleb's friend Garrett turned 3 on April 29th, and for his birthday he got to have a train party. Everyone at the party got to go on the Cedar Park Railroad, and we got to play at the park and eat really delicious peanut butter & jelly muffins in the shape of trains. For party favors, the kids each got a beach ball and a pair of stylin' shades. Good times were definitely had by all. We're glad that Caleb has such a good friend, and if we'd gotten a picture of the two of them together it would've been even better. :)
Austin Children's Museum
Kenn took a day off work back in April, and we decided to take the kids to the Austin Children's Museum. We'd been hearing about it since we moved here, but we just never got around to taking Caleb. I am glad we finally did, because he had a BALL. Time of his life. Same thing. :)
Guster is For Lovers

I love a good concert. And this one was particularly fantastic. Not only was it Kenn's 2nd concert, ever, it was also his 2nd time seeing Guster. But not I, friends. It was at least my 4th time seeing them, and they're still awesome. The concert was on April 22nd at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, which is an outdoor venue. They had some booths set up talking about eco-friendly-type things, because Guster is VERY much a "Green" band, and the concert itself was to benefit the Hill Country Conservancy.

It was so much fun, though. The opening band, "Wild Sweet Orange," was actually pretty good. The lead singer was really funny, and their music was good, too. But Guster was AWESOME. They are just great, and if you've never heard them you're seriously missing out. Adam rocked a little trumpet, Brian was killing on the hand-played percussion (as usual) and Ryan had some sweet facial hair to go along with his big vocals. One of the best parts of the night, though, was when Austin musician Ben Kweller walked out on the stage to do a few songs with the guys. He co-wrote and sang a hidden track on "Keep It Together," and then, pinnacle of the evening, they all did a cover of Weezer's "Say It Ain't So."
It ROCKED.
The funniest part about it was that there were a lot of older people in the crowd, kind of yuppie-ish 40-50 year old types, and they were digging the concert, but when "Say It Ain't So" began, they looked a little lost. And while the rest of us rocked out, they stood there with confused expressions. Apparently, they didn't know Weezer.

We also were standing near this kid that had some CRAZY facial piercings and tattoos going on, but he turned out to be one of the most polite people we talked to all night. I love when that happens.
BIG shout-out to Brother Kevin Clark, who watched our kids for us so we could go have a night out. He even put them to bed and everything, and then, as if that wasn't enough, he cleaned my kitchen. Best babysitter EVER. :)

I love date nights! I love my husband! I love Guster!
(p.s. these pictures were taken with my camera-phone. Please forgive their crappiness.)

Happy Boy
This kid is fabulous. As long as his basic needs are met, he is the happiest, most content baby for miles around. When I go in his room to get him up in the morning or from a nap, as soon as he sees me he breaks into the biggest grin. He is very snuggly, especially with mom, and he just loves to explore and get into things. He's recently started rolling ALL OVER the family room, getting into the toy buckets and putting anything he can in his mouth. Once he's done with one toy, he rolls away to find another. He also LOVES to eat. He's had the entire display of veggies, fruits, and meats, and he still has not made a face or refused to eat anything. My kind of boy. ;)
He also absolutely adores his older brother. Caleb is rough, albeit unintentionally, and lays on Beckett and pushes him and rolls him over, and Beckett just lights up anytime Caleb comes near him. They definitely like each other, at least for now, and it's nice that Beckett is so entertained by someone other than me.
It's hard to get him to laugh out loud, but he always squeals and talks and smiles like crazy. We're so happy to have this baby boy in our family.
I just hope he stays this happy. :)

Easter 2009
Easter was a LOT of fun this year, more than it's ever been for Kenn and I. As Caleb gets older, we're able to do more and more holiday traditions, and we enjoy it. Caleb and Beckett (and mommy and daddy) got baskets from the Easter Bunny, and it was a fun-filled morning trying to keep Caleb from inhaling all the candy within 5 minutes. We did let him go crazy and eat a whole package of Pez, but after that we drew the line.
Beckett didn't get too hyper, but then again, he was only 6 months old. He did seem to enjoy the 'mini me' that the E.B. brought him. And mom and dad got some chocolates, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
I went crazy for dinner, and we had a ham, and sweet potatoes, and veggies, and all kinds of crazy stuff. Good times. You gotta love the holidays.
